Physical Pain - A Blessing in Disguise

"An obstacle may be either a stepping stone or a stumbling block"
There are many things in life we try to avoid. One of them is pain.Pain whether emotional, physical or mental has a message. It acts as life's informer. In our body, it is installed as a warning system by nature.
Generally when we think about creating and maintaining health, we focus only about the physical part of our being. We may pay very less attention to our thoughts, feelings and emotions, even though they are intimately connected to the state of our health and well-being.Disease may be a manifestation of some sort of mental or emotional conflict.Chronic pain over long period of time may break your mental strength to cope with pain. You may feel like a victim, always questioning "who is the one responsible"
Over the years, I have been suffering with chronic pain and illnesses. At times I really felt emotionally disturbed and less empowered. The worst consequence was the dent it put in my self-image and self-esteem.I remember a song by Kishore Da,
"Jo tum hasoge to duniya hasegi,
Jo rowoge tum to na royegi duniya"
Tumhare aasuyo ko samajh na sakegi,
Tumhare aasooyo par hasegi ye duniya"
How true it is...
But the law of life is change.Nothing lasts forever. If bad times lasted so long, be happy , for the good part is yet to manifest. There is something awkward if am putting it correctly that I observed in the last 25 years-the years of my life which were full of physical pain and distress, the years which seriously had a setback on my dreams, career, relationships and overall satisfaction with life, a question I kept on looking for answer." What is the purpose behind all this?I firmly believe, "Nothing in life happens by accident".Everthing happens for a reason. We may not see that reason at the moment, but there is a hidden purpose in any given situation.

At times, it really felt bad, really bad, very painful and helpless. All thoughts turned negative but all this has been temporary.I observed everytime it offers a new challenge.A challenge which has the potential for transformation and change. All pain is a blessing in disguise if you accept the challenge. But we all love status quo , though change is the only thing that's constant in this universe. But we are conditioned to change when we have no option left.We feel that we cannot stand the pain any longer. But it is in such heartbreaking circumstances that we can experience the most profound, life altering changes. The only condition is we just be willing to ensure temporary pain, discomfort or hardship, recognise that they are part of the process of making us whole.

Disease is cruel but it may provide opportunity to work out our internal conflicts.Once we get out of our body and become aware of our true self, we can create a new world of possibilities for us.

God shapes us gradually for the noble sublime life.He gives us oppurtunity, brings obstacles our way.He may give us a lot of pain and suffering but always remember God does more miracles through painful and unpleasant experiences than HE does through pleasant experiences.God doesn't play the game of favourites. He gave pain , May be to make me more compassionate than I was earlier, to make a path for me which was less travelled by.Pain is soon to be history in my life , for now despite discomfort of body parts and emotional hurts, it has become my strength. When pain becomes your greatest strength, suffering no longer exists. There is peace ...There is happiness..There is awareness...There is bliss..It's is a transition phase. Some upheavals are still happening but soon the journey will be much more beautiful..more serene ..And a life dedicated to humanity.
I am convinced ,pain is indeed a blessing in disguise, only if you realise so.Today I thank God for this wonderful life, the beautiful pain which has no doubt made me a more compassionate person than I was earlier.May God pour some more grace and give me strength to dedicate this God gifted precious life for the service of others.
